Matt Bishop’s polite words for Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton signed with McLaren after an amazing rookie year in the Formula 2 World Championship at the age of 22. He won the world championship in his second season with the team. During McLaren’s time at McLaren, he worked alongside Matt Bishop, who is currently working Aston Martin’s chief communication officer.
Matt Bishop recalls an heartwarming interaction with Lewis Hamilton, Bishop said, “I worked with Lewis Hamilton very closely for 5 years when he & I were at McLaren. He’s an absolutely brilliant #F1 driver and a truly great man. He does a huge amount for diversity & inclusivity. By contrast Nelson Piquet Sr disgusts me. #WeRaceAsOne. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
According to Bishop, Hamilton is a misunderstood person due to his social media life. Lewis Hamilton eventually switched to Mercedes in 2013 raising concerns in the process. He was not in contact with Matt Bishop due to the obvious team change. However, there was another touching interaction with the Briton, which is still hitched to Bishop’s heart.
Lewis Hamilton is a Mercedes player and a seven time F1 World Champion.
