Neeraj Chopra breaks his previous record

Indian track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra has shattered his own previous record after returning from the Tokyo Olympics, with a throw of 89.30m, Chopra has broken his previous national record and has placed himself second at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland.

After nearly a year or 10 months to be precise, Neeraj has again impressed everyone with a throw touching nearly 90m, this is set to be the gold standard in the world of javelin.

First he got the distance of 86.92m and afterwards a record 89.30m. The next three attempts were fouls and the final one was 85.85m.

Chopra’s record throw takes him to the fifth spot in the world season leaders list. German plyer Johannes Vetter who is known for 90m+ throws was almost set to take part in the Paavo Nurmi Games but had withdrawn.

Neeraj Chopra will next be seen in the Kourtane Games in Finland on Saturday where he is presently, he has taken training in the United States and Turkey before going to Finland.
