Newcastle remembers Cheick Tiote on his death anniversary
Ivorian star has left a huge legacy behind him, Premier League club Newcastle United fondly remembers Cheick Tiote as he passed away five years ago at the age of just 30.
Tiote was in Beijing, China when he was struck by a cardiac arrest while training. Demba Ba was the first to pay tribute to the Ivorian via social media, and soon afterwards, many of his Newcastle fellow mates also.
Whether it was playing for Ivory Coast or Newcastle the man’s journey speaks a lot in five years and the St. James Park crowd remembers the guy fondly.
Tiote was a defensive fielder who mainly played as a defensive midfielder, his stint with Newcastle United was for seven years and he made 139 appearances for the club. He was part of Ivory Coast which were the runners up in the 2012 Equatorial Guinea – Gabon.
