Not the end of the Premier League transfers

The much awaited summer transfer window is almost at the end with its wrapping up on Thursday with the English Premier League clubs still very active in the market despite already spending $2 billion on new players.

Already on the verge on the end days, Brazil Winger Antony has joined Manchester United from Ajax for a whopping amount of $95 million to take the club’s own spending in this window at a amount of $240 million.

Moreover, Manchester City has bolstered its defensive options by bringing in Swiss center back Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund for $17.5 million.

Major clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool are likely to have made last-day purchases to remove gaps in their squads while Nottingham Forest might even make it to a record 20 signings since returning to the league.

West London club Chelsea is the biggest spender in Europe with this window after total expenditures of about $265 million which has further has been linked with a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined Barcelona from Arsenal just back in February.

Erik ten Hag has his final eye on goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka from Newcastle United as a back up for David De Gea. The future of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has been a huge question of concern since the last season, he made a sign to move out as Man United were not a part of Champions League.

The Premier League also has made huge global broadcasting deals worth about 10 billion pounds over three seasons. With this the rest of Europe just cannot compete at any level, with the total spending in Spain, Italy, Germany and France far inferior to that of England.
