Pant the hero, India glides through victory

India’s tour of England has officially come to an end now, the Men in Blue have sealed the white ball series by winning both the T20I and ODI. The third ODI happened  being played at Old Trafford in Manchester and it seemed to be quite a contest.

The home side posted 259 on the board while batting first, the Englishman were seeming to be in control as opener Jason Roy smashed three boundaries off the first over by Mohammed Shami. Hence, Mohammed Siraj never made the fans feel the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj struck twice in his first overs and got the likes of Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root.

The star bowler for the Indian side was Hardik Pandya, with 7 overs, 24 runs, 4 wickets and 3 maidens in his spell.

Following, India’s chase, they were 126/4 at one stage. However, with the partnership of Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant, all things looked easy. The wicket keeper batsmen made his first century in white ball cricket with a smashing score of 125 from 113 balls.

Kung fu Pandya was equally crucial for his side with his 55 ball 71 knock with the bat.

Top order of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli were dismissed in quick interval.

Rishabh Pant was adjudged the Man of the Match and Hardik Pandya was awarded the Player of the Series for his brilliant all round performance throughout the series.

India will be next facing the West Indies, Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the side and senior players are rested for the tour. The first match is on Friday, 22nd July.
