Paul Pogba: Man Utd midfielder opens up about his own experiences with depression

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba says he experienced depression after falling out with Jose Mourinho when the latter was in charge at Old Trafford. Paul Labile Pogba is a French professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester United and the France national team. He operates primarily as a central midfielder, but can also be deployed as a left-winger, attacking midfielder, defensive midfielder, and deep-lying playmaker.

Paul talks about how he was diagnosed with depression. “I’ve experienced depression many times in my career, but you don’t talk about it,”.

Paul also reflected on the fact that many people think being a successful person will bring you peace of mind and Success is equivalent to peace to some extent.

“Of course, we earn a lot of money and we don’t complain, really. But that does not prevent you from going through these moments in your life – like the whole world – which is more difficult than others.” In football, it is not acceptable but we are not superheroes, we are only human beings,” said Paul.

Mental Health is getting normalized nowadays. Everyone is trying to understand how equally important is mental health compared to physical health. People often consider those who go to therapy to be mental but it is not the truth, even if someone is not diagnosed with any mental health disorders one should consider going to Therapy.  Paul says there should be more open discussions about Footballers’ mental health.
