PSG is prepared to sell Neymar, While Mbappe remains, Luis Campos authorises the transfer if the price is fair
Neymar, 30, allegedly faces an unclear future in the French capital during this summer of upheaval, according to Foot Mercato.
Campos, a renowned Portuguese transfer guru, has arrived to take Leonardo’s place.
And he intends to name Christophe Galtier as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement rather than Zinedine Zidane.
Rumor has it that Campos and Galtier intend to use a new 3-5-2 formation at the Parc des Princes.
With the club being constructed around Kylian Mbappe after his new deal, they are preparing bids for new signings appropriately.
Renato Sanches of Lille and Vitinha of Porto are slated to join the team as new centre midfielders.
Along with Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe, Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan is desired as the third centre back.
The change in formation should also bring out the best in wingback Achraf Hakimi and forward Lionel Messi, who both had difficult first seasons.
Neymar, though, doesn’t seem to have a spot in the starting XI for the upcoming season.
And should PSG get a good offer, the Brazilian is definitely expendable.
After moving from Barcelona to the French champions for around £200 million in 2017, Neymar is still the most expensive player in the world.
In 144 games with PSG, he has since scored 100 goals, helping the team to four championships and three French Cups.
Though PSG’s most coveted title, the Champions League, has eluded Neymar and PSG.
Since Neymar has only made 30 appearances or more across all competitions twice in five years, there have also been concerns about his general level of commitment and fitness.
But it’s unclear if the hitman, who is contracted to PSG through 2025 and earns £600,000 a week, will find any buyers.
If Neymar leaves, PSG might be able to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
Messi might move to the No. 10 midfield position as a result.
However, the Pole is dead keen on relocating to Barcelona.
