Real Madrid’s summer tour in the States
The International Champions Cup, a summer tournament of the Relevant Sports Group and international soccer executive Charlie Stillitano, a regularly brought as many as eight top European clubs to the US for a series of exhibitions before the competition was suspended two years ago because of COVID – 19.
AEG announced it was stepping into the void with Galaxy to host a five team, nine day summer tour headlined by Real Madrid, who were recently crowned the Champions League winners.
The Real’s will play three games, ending on July 30 against Juventus at the Rose Bowl, Barcelona and Club America and Chivas de Guadalajara will also be participating in the event.
The tour will start from July 22 with Juventus against America at Las Vegas, Real Madrid will play Barcelona at the same venue the next day. Real Madrid will then face America at San Francisco’s Oracle Park on July 26 with Barcelona playing Juventus in Dallas.
The tour will be the first appearance of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the US since 2019
