Ross Taylor has equaled Daniel Vettori as New Zealand’s most capped Test cricketer
As Taylor plays his 112th Test for the BlackCaps at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch, he has now equalled Vettori’s record of being New Zealand’s most capped Test cricketer
The New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor became the most capped Test cricketer as he stepped out for the final time in Test cricket on Sunday. He equaled former spinner Daniel Vettori.
Currently, Ross Taylor is playing his 112th Test for the BlackCaps at Hagley Oval, Christchurch; as a result, he has tied Michael Vettori for the most Test caps for New Zealand.
Before Stephen Fleming played 111 Tests for New Zealand, while Brendon McCullum played 101 matches in the longest format.
Since Ross Taylor announced his retirement before the beginning of the series, the New Zealand-Bangladesh Test is Ross Taylor’s last in the longest format.
Taylor had announced on December 30, 2021, that the series against Bangladesh would be his last in the Test team before he retires in the ODIs against Australia and the Netherlands later this summer.
This summer will be Taylor’s final season with the BLACKCAPS, capping a 16-year international career.
