SAvsIND, 2nd ODI: 4th ODI fifty for India’s Rishabh Pant
In the second one-day international between India and South Africa in Paarl, Pant scored his fourth half-century.
In the second match of the three-match ODI series, India won the toss and batted. The team was led by KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan to a good start. Together they scored 63 runs for the first wicket, but Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed after scoring 29 runs. Former captain Virat Kohli came to the crease and faced five balls before returning to the pavilion without scoring. As a result, India was under pressure. But Rishabh Pant, batting well with KL Rahul, first took the score beyond 100, then completed his half-century. It was due to a misunderstanding between Pant and captain KL Rahul that the latter escaped.
Despite this, the pair added over 50, with Pant scoring his fifty off just 43 balls.
Left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant reached the fourth half-century of his One Day International career with the help of 6 fours and 1 six in 43 balls. Rishabh Pant was once again inserted at number four by the management. Earlier, Rishabh Pant was the number four batsman in the first match of the three-match ODI series played here, but he did not contribute much. It took Rishabh Pant only 22 balls to score 16 runs in the first ODI. This time, he led the innings intelligently instead of playing defensively.
