Shoaib Akhtar reveals he wanted to hit Tendulkar intentionally
The God of Cricket in India, Sachin Tendulkar had a series of facing fast bowlers all across the globe. However, whenever it is an India and Pakistan battle, the battle is more intense. His rivalry with Shoaib Akhtar which was thoroughly enjoyed by all viewers.
Sachin has dominated Akhtar on most occasions, but the bowlers used to counter attack by beaming bouncers. During a recent interview, Akhtar revealed that he intentionally wanted to hurt Tendulkar during India’s tour of Pakistan in 2006.
“First, let me reveal this. I intentionally wanted to hit Sachin in that match (Karachi Test, 2006). I was determined that I had to injure Sachin in that Test at any cost,” Akhtar said during a chat with Sportskeeda.
Akhtar further revealed that he continued to target Sachin, pacer Mohammad Asif troubled Indian pacers with his clinical bowling.
“I again tried to injure him. On other side, Indian batting was facing the music in the shape of Asif. I had rarely seen anyone bowl as well as Asif had bowled on that particular day,” the pacer added.
India and Pakistan bilateral series have been suspended for the past 15 years due to security reasons in the Indian neighbourhood.
