Smriti Mandhana shines in The Hundred
Southern Brave have registered another win under the belt as they defeat Trent Rockets at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.
Courtesy Smriti Mandhana and Danielle Wyatt strong partnership.
Despite the fact that they were chasing a modest score, Mandhana didn’t reign in her attacking approach to the game and get going straight from the start. In the very first ball she faced, the left handed batter smashed the ball through the off-side for a four and in the second set she found the square-leg boundary for another boundary.
As far as Indian batter Smriti Mandhana’s performance is concerned, then the Indian smashed a 31 ball 57 not out, which included 2 sixes and 9 fours at a strike rate of more than 180.
Trent Rockets could only manage 88/8 in their 100 balls, SB chased the target with just 56 balls.
“I’m really happy with how the match went. It was a good team win. It was good to win the toss and good conditions to bowl in but our batters showed it was also a good batting wicket. The goal for me was to take two wickets in the Powerplay. Wello has done a good job for us in the middle of these games. We assessed the conditions and realized pace off the ball was the way to go. We just want to keep pushing through to the final.” said Match Hero, Lauren Bell.
