TATA IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals’ Introduced New Jersey for the IPL 2022

The new jersey for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been unveiled by the Rajasthan Royals. The announcement was made on the official social media accounts of the franchise on Tuesday (March 15). Although initial-season champions have retained the pink and blue color scheme, they have made some significant changes to their design. Their jersey features multiple shades of pink horizontal stripes.

The collar and sleeves of the jersey are dark blue. Its logo is placed in the middle of the jersey as the title sponsor of the franchise, premium dry fruit brand Happilo. Other sponsors’ logos are also framed in the kit, including Dollar, Jio, and Red Bull. The jersey was unveiled through a video posted by the franchise, which featured Sanju Samson, skipper Yuzvendra Chahal, and RedBull stuntman Robbie Maddison, who delivered the jersey.

Sanju Samson, the Royals’ captain who signed in for the special delivery, said, “It was amazing. It was my first time seeing Robbie’s amazing stunts in person, having only watched them on television before. Perhaps I will try it out for myself once I have stopped playing cricket (laughs),” he concluded.
Fans came up with opinions on the new design in no time, which made the design go viral. Likewise, the Jaipur-based team would like to change its fortunes as well as their jersey. Even after winning the inaugural edition in 2008, RR haven’t made it to the final since. Their performance in the last couple of seasons has been nothing but disappointing.

The franchise officials did a good job in the mega auction last month and formed a formidable team. Despite keeping Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Trent Boult, as well as Shimron Hetmyer and Yuzvendra Chahal, the team acquired big name players such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Devdutt Padikkal and Shimron Hetmyer.

It remains to be seen how the team will execute their plans on the field, despite looking balanced on paper. The IPL 2022 season will begin on March 26 and cricket fans must already have marked their calendars.
