TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022: R. Ashwin sold at 5 crore to Rajasthan Royals

India is witnessing the TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022 in Bengaluru on Saturday, February 12. The 35-year old Indian all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin has been sold for 5 crore  to team Rajasthan Royals. He was registered at the highest bracket of base price Rs 2 crores by virtue of being a capped player.

This right-handed batsman has been bought by Rajasthan Royals at 5 crore. The Indian bowler was already expected to be one of the most expensive players and fetched 5 crore price at the auction. He has played over 167 matches in his entire IPL history. Team Rajasthan Royals has been successful in retaining the marquee player for 5 crore in this edition. The popular Indian all-rounder had generated keen interest among other franchises including Team B, Team C.

This marquee player made his debut in IPL through Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2009. He played for CSK until 2015. He played for Rising Pune Supergiants the following year. He also played for the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals subsequently. He led the Punjab Kings for two seasons.
