Madrid clinched their 14th European title after beating Liverpool 1 – 0 at the Stade de France on Saturday. A goal from Junior and a man of the match performance from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was enough to see off Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Although, the main reason for this is the productive trio of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro their fifth Champions League title, this combination will go down as the best midfield trio in football history.
Even better than Barcelona’s Spanish trio of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta, who were part of Pep Guardiola’s spectacular Barcelona side that has been labelled as the ‘best team in the world’. However, the main advantage of this trio was they played for the same national team.
Madrid and Barcelona fans took to twitter and started a fan war, counting both the trios achievements and performances. Preferences are always there but both the trio groups will be one of the best to play the game.
