Timo Werner exits Chelsea FC; bids adieu
Timo Werner will be hooking up again with RB Leipzig and is set to leave Stamford Bridge, the German has thanked Chelsea fans for sticking by him through good times and bad ahead of his 25 million pound transfer.
Also, the German club will be paying another 20m pound to sign the striker, just two years after selling him to the Stamford Bridge outfit for 47.5m pounds.
Werner has featured in 89 games for the West London club and has scored 23 goals, he was captured by the papps arriving in Leipzig on Monday night ahead of his medical formalities.
“Dear Blues, today marks the end of my journey with Chelsea. I am incredibly grateful for the time I spent at this special club. At this point I would like to express my appreciation for my teammate, the coaches and staff, and especially for you, the special supporters, wrote Werner in his letter.
“I felt so much love and support throughout the last two years and I will never forget how you guys stood behind me in good and in challenging times!
“We lifted trophies like the Champions League together and I will always remember the song you wrote and chanted for me.
“I’m already looking forward to hopefully playing at Stamford Bridge again one day!” added the German international
Timo Werner played a crucial part in the team’s glory of UEFA Champions League, he will be joining the German club on a four year deal.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Benjamin Sesko are the names coming up to replace Timo Werner.
