Top IPL players who got the highest amount in 2021 bidding

IPL, a season for every cricket fan. Indian premier league a.k.a. IPL is loved all over the globe. In the Indian Premier League, ten teams based in ten Indian cities compete in a professional Twenty20 cricket league. Every year the players are priced highly to play for the team whether they are national or international, doesn’t matter.
Here are the top 5 expensive players of 2021:

1. Chris Morris – Rajasthan Royals (₹16.25 crore)

Chris Morris became the most expensive buy in IPL history with a bid of *16.25 crore ($2.2 million) made by the Rajasthan Royals at the 2021 auction.
Morris played just nine matches for Bangalore in the 2020 tournament, taking 11 wickets and scoring just 34 runs.
The Royals weren’t deterred, however, and released captain Steve Smith to make room for a second overseas star.

2. Kyle Jamieson – Royal Challengers Bangalore (₹15 crore)

Jamieson has made a promising start to his international career, and he will entered the 2021 IPL as the second-most expensive buy. It was Bangalore who again won out, spending $2.06 million on the 6ft 8in star.

Jason Jamieson is a right-handed pitcher with good pace and useful hitting in the lower middle order for the Royal Challengers. They made some big moves in last year’s auction.

3. Glenn Maxwell – Royal Challengers Bangalore (₹14.25 crore)

Maxwell was always going to be one of the most sought-after properties in the 2021 auction, even with his poor showing for Punjab in 2020. After winning a bidding war against the Chennai Super Kings, the Royal Challengers Bangalore hoped their *14.25 crore ($1.96m) investment pays off.

In his prime, Maxwell was one of the most destructive T20 batsmen in the world, and he teamed up with Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers in Bangalore.

4. Jhye Richardson – Punjab Kings (₹14 crore)

Richardson was one of the hottest assets available at the auction, and the bidding war that ensued did not disappoint. Punjab Kings bid a whopping *14 crore ($1.9m) for the 24-year-old Australia international.
During the BBL campaign, Richardson took 29 wickets, five more than any other bowler.

5. Krishnappa Gowtham – Chennai Super Kings (₹9.25 crore)

In the same way that Meredith broke the record for the most expensive uncapped overseas player in IPL history, Gowtham has now become the most expensive uncapped Indian player. Chennai Super Kings paid the Karnataka all-rounder *9.25 crore ($1.27m) following a three-team bidding war. He has previously played IPL cricket for the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab.

In 2020, he played just two games for Kings XI, but will surely have a much bigger role for the Super Kings after their big expenditure.
