Gareth Edwards
Gareth was voted by one leading rugby magazine as the greatest rugby player of all time. He was the one man every team would have killed for. Edwards was a rugby player, athlete and gymnast, all in one. The Welsh also once defeated future Olympic medalist Alan Pascoe in the English schools 220 yards hurdles final. He outplayed everyone with his kicking, developed one of the longest passes in the game and also had the strength of power lifter.
Barry John
He was a sublime player whose sense of calm put others at ease. He could do heavenly things that were hell for opponents. He won a Grand Slam at 27, beat New Zealand on tour with the Lions and was known as the King. He was trying access in the Millennium Stadium press box.
Phil Bennet
Bennet knew how to get the job done. He cushioned the blow of Barry John retiring early. They look at footage of a twinkle toed Benny with the Lions in South Africa in 1974, or recall him destroying Ireland amid devasting running in the Five Nations two years later.
Gerald Davies
He played in era of the touchline posts, but the match against Scotland in 1977 and the wonderful sidestepping run which launched Phil Bennet’s try in ages. He could score, defend and moreover revolutionizing the wing position. He made four tries for Cardiff against Pontypool.
Shane Williams

Alun Wyn Jones
The rugby player has contributed the most for the Wales over the years. His record of 150 caps offer hard evidence of his central importance to the cause over an extended period . However, during his peak years his absolute failure to understand the concept of going missing in action, his galvanising influence on others. The Wales team have been very fortunate to have him.
JPR Williams
Always had an intention of playing to win, he has record of 81% in Test career in the Five Nations. For the avoidance of doubt, that’s a useful success rate over 44 games. Not the quickest, but the bravest. It was rarely that he missed a tackle. He earned the respect with the All Blacks at the age of 20.
