Virat Kohli slammed his 71st century in international cricket against Afghanistan at the Dubai International Stadium of the DP Asia Cup. Kohli ended his much awaiting drought of centuries after smashing 122* of 61 balls.

India skipper Rohit Sharma was on rest, in his absence, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul opened up in the innings and went all hell loose on the Afghan bowlers. Kohli last international hundred came back in 2019 in a Pink Ball Test match against Bangladesh.

Moreover, this is Virat Kohli’s first century in T20I, this makes him a batter to score centuries in all three formats. He is on equal position with Ricky Ponting (71 hundreds) and only behind Sachin Tendulkar (100 hundreds).
