Vince McMahon steps down as CEO of WWE, Fans in shock

WWE Chairman and CEO Vincent Kennedy McMahon has himself stepped down from his duties of the company, the WWE and Board of Directors on Friday announced that a Special Committee of the Board will conduct an investigation into “alleged misconduct” by McMahon and John Laurinaitis, head of talent relation.

However, the CEO will retain his role and responsibilities in context to WWE’s creative content during this period of the investigation.

The report came in while the WWE is investigating into a $3 million settlement which was agreed upon by McMahon and the ex employees over an alleged affair. The other non disclosure agreements by the employees will lead to further investigations, which will be directed to McMahon and Laurinaitis misconduct.

“I have pledged my complete cooperation to the investigation by the Special Committee, and I will do everything possible to support the investigation. I have also pledged to accept the findings and outcome of the investigation, whatever they are,” said McMahon.

Currently, WWE Superstar Triple H’s wife and McMahon’s daughter Stephanie McMahon will serve as the interim CEO and interim Chairwoman as appointed by the Special Committee.
