The Indian Air Force to procure 21 MiG-29 fighter jets besides 12 Sukhoi MK1 from Russia

India is to quick track the acquisition of an extra 21 MiG 29 warrior planes and 12 Sukhoi Su-30 MKI airplane from Russia, a news report said Thursday. This comes in the midst of spiraling pressures among India and China.

The new contender planes will be purchased in an administration to-government manage Russia with the surmised cost assessed to be ₹6,000 crore, news office ANI said.

The Indian Air Force had been intending to purchase the extra airplane for quite a while with Indian Air Force chief Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhaduria expressing this at his yearly question and answer session in front of Indian Air Force day on 8 October.

The 12 Su-30MKI warriors will be created by the government-run Bengaluru-based Hindustan Aeronautics Limited while 21 Mig 29 contenders will be fabricated in Russia.

The proposition to purchase warrior planes comes when India and China are occupied with a strained stalemate in the Galwan Valley, which began after Chinese soldiers barged in into An Indian area and questioned a road India was working close to the Line of Actual Control, asserting that it lay inside A Chinese area.
