Union Budget 2022: 19500 crore announced for solar PLI scheme
February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharamn has announced in the budget presentation that an additional allocation is made towards Solar Production linked incentive (PLI) scheme.
“Additional allocation of Rs 19,500 crore for Production Linked Incentive Scheme for mfg of high-efficiency Solar modules with a priority to fully integrate manufacturing units from polysilicon to solar PV modules will be made,” the FM said in the budget 2022. This plan has been made is to facilitate domestic manufacturing for the goal of 280 gigawatts of installed solar capacity, to be achieved by the year 2030.
The Government so far has committed around Rs.1.97 lakh crore and recently, PLI in the 14th sector. Where drones and drone equipment have been included with additional funds of Rs. 120 crore, as per sources.
