Why twitterati is praising Diljit Dosanjh? Actor’s 4.3M followers increased – Know details
In a series of Internet winning responses, Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh took on Kangana Ranaut.
After he took on actress Kangana Ranaut on Twitter, Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has become the talk of the town. However, since Diljit replied more in Punjabi to Kangana, many may have wanted to join, engage, or watch the spat unfold gleefully but couldn’t. Fret not occasionally, Twitter can be a fantastic spot, and many have taken to interpreting the singer’s tweets for all of us to learn.
The spat began with Diljit referring to a tweet posted on November 27 by Kangana. She quoted and wrote that Bilkis Bano, the 82-year-old identified as Shaheen Bagh Dadi (grandmother), was also part of farmers’ ongoing protest.
The actor said the Bano, also featured in TIME magazine, was “available for hire] in 100 rupees].” Kangana deleted this tweet after finding out that the women were not the same in the protest of the farmers and Bilkis Bano.
On Thursday, Diljit replied with a BBC video of the older woman from the farmers’ protest, Mahinder Kaur, talking about the problems with the three farmers’ bills. He said, “Look at this proof @KanganaTeam. A person shouldn’t be so blind. She (Kangana) keeps on saying anything.”
Kangana responded to this, calling Diljit Karan Johar’s pet (palate). To this, Kangana replied, calling Diljit Karan Johar’s pet (paaltu). “The dadi who was protesting at Shaheen Bagh for her citizenship is Bilkis Bano. The same one was seen protesting for farmers. I don’t know who Mahinder Kaur Ji is. What is this drama?”
For her ‘derogatory’ tweet, Kangana Ranaut issued another legal notice.
The note was about a tweet in which Ranaut misidentified an old woman as the ‘Dadi’ of Shaheen Bagh, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee said.
On Friday, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee said it had sent a legal notice to actress Kangana Ranaut, demanding an unconditional apology for her ‘insensitive remarks’ regarding the farmers’ protests underway. This is the second warning of this type this week given to the performer.
President Manjinder Sirsa of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee said the charges against Ranaut refer to a negative tweet she made about a farmer’s mother. The old woman was misidentified by Ranaut as Bilkis Bano, the “Shaheen Bagh Daddy,” and wrote that she could be employed for a protest for Rs 100. Later, Bano also stated that she was at home and was not seen in the photo.
“Ha ha ha, she is the same dadi who featured in Time magazine for being the most powerful Indian…And she is available in 100 rupees,” Ranaut said in a now-deleted tweet on November 29. “Pakistani journos have hijacked international PR [public relations] for India in an embarrassing way. We need our people to speak for us internationally.”
The actor’s tweets depicted the farmers’ demonstrations as anti-national, Sirsa said.
A lawyer from Punjab’s Zirakpur Town has submitted a legal notice on December 2, demanding Ranaut’s apology for her tweet within seven days. “It is to inform you that the said lady is not a fake lady,” the legal notice said. “Her name is Maninder Kaur, and she belongs to village Bahadur Garh…”
The note also said that, with her tweet, Ranaut ridiculed the farmers’ strike.
Bano came to the Delhi-Haryana Singhu border on Tuesday night to join the farmers’ rally but was taken away by the police.
Thousands of farmers from many Indian states, particularly Punjab and Haryana, have been protesting at the Delhi border for nine days. They have been protesting against the agricultural laws of the Centre. On Thursday, talks between farmers and the center again failed to crack the impasse, although the meeting lasted more than seven hours. On December 5, another round of negotiations is expected to take place.
