In response to Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine, Anonymous declared “electronic war” on the “Kremlin’s criminal regime.” The hacker group claimed to have hacked 2,500 Russian and Belarussian government state media and other websites “in support of Ukraine.”
On March 18, Anonymous announced the launch of “unprecedented attacks” on Russian government websites, doubling their capacity “at peak times from 500 GB to 1TB,” making them “two or three times more powerful than the most serious incidents.”
Anonymous has proven to be a very capable group in infiltrating high-value targets, records, and databases in the Russian Federation.
