As per the sources, it claims that after their son was killed while performing his job, the parents of the Israeli soldier started a campaign earlier this year to obtain authorization to utilize his sperm cells for pregnancy. Israeli soldier Amit Ben Yigal, 21, was killed in action in the West Bank village of Yabad in 2020. Immediately after his death, his father stole his sperm.
His father, Ben Yigal, was quoted by the Jerusalem Post as saying that his son “really wanted to be a parent. He said that he was prevented from having children as a result of the death of his son. He does not, however, want to be prevented from becoming a grandparent.
As per the sources, we also came to know that Yigal asserted to have the contact information of 182 ladies who were available to act as surrogate mothers. However, due to state regulations, he and his wife are unable to use the sperm of their deceased son.
Furthermore, some Israeli citizens want the legislation to be changed to permit parents to use the sperm of their deceased children.
