Elon Musk to buy famous football team “Manchester United”

Elon Musk frequently makes ridiculous statements on Twitter for laughs, and when he told his followers, “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome,” he did it once again. Elon Musk joked on Twitter on Tuesday in response to a widely shared story that claimed he had purchased Manchester United. The remark was in reaction to one of Tesla and SpaceX’s billionaire CEO’s tweets, in which he claimed to support both of the country’s two major political parties.

The 51-year-old was subsequently questioned on the website about his seriousness regarding the purchase of Manchester United. The man is currently being sued for his effort to acquire Twitter.

After Musk’s original tweet garnered nearly 500,000 “likes” in a matter of hours, he replied “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams. Although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid.”

Manchester United, one of the biggest football clubs in the world that has been enmeshed in a protracted decline, is owned by the Glazer family. Angry fans have made them their target. The comments from Musk were not immediately addressed by United or its owners. The club’s stock, which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange, closed Tuesday with a market value of $2.1 billion. Despite Musk’s insistence that it was a joke, the US authorities might find Musk’s tweet offensive. The Glazers came under fire from fans following the team’s dramatic fall from grace.
