Finland provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine
As a result of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Finland provides humanitarian aid in response to acute distress and strengthens Ukraine’s sustainability in the midst of the war through development cooperation. Finland’s long-term partner is Ukraine.
According to the statement, the two leaders discussed the current state of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with a focus on the need for humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians and the safety of Ukraine’s nuclear facilities.
Prospects for peace talks were discussed with 🇫🇮 President @niinisto. We must stop the war together! Thanked 🇫🇮 for supporting 🇺🇦 in the fight against aggression. This is more important than ever. We must jointly end the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Russia. #StopRussia

Long before the first shot was fired, diplomats all over the world were attempting to find a way to mediate a peaceful resolution between Ukraine and Russia. That goal is more elusive than ever after two weeks of gruelling combat.
The UN estimates that up to 12 million people will require humanitarian assistance in the coming months. A large portion of the population is suffering from a lack of water, food, and medicines, and people are unable to treat their war-related injuries. Those who have fled their homes require protection and emergency shelter.
Finland contributes to humanitarian aid in Ukraine through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations (UN). The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) plays a unique role in promoting and enforcing international humanitarian law. Finnish humanitarian aid, delivered through the ICRC, is used to assist Ukrainians in need of items such as water, food, medicines, and medical supplies.
