GhostSec Leaks Data from Russian domain provider domain[.]ru
GhostSec, a hacktivist collective, claimed to have launched a cyberattack against Russian internet domain registration provider domain[.]ru. The group was able to steal over 140MB of data, including screenshots of sensitive files and spreadsheet data in Excel.

According to the README file included in the data leak, GhostSec discovered over 4TB of SQL databases during the breach, but the team’s presence was detected by the company’s intrusion detection systems and kicked off the network before the SQL data could be harvested.
GhostSec is involved in the Anonymous cyberwar against Russia and has released a report. Ghost Security, or GhostSec, is a self-described “vigilante” group that was formed to attack ISIS websites that promote Islamic extremism. It is regarded as a branch of the Anonymous hacking collective.
