Illinois’s Highland Park shooting on American Independence Day parade
Police have reported a shooting incident that took place in downtown Highland Park, Illinois, during July 4 Independence day parade.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, one witness was present during the shooting. He heard 20-25 gunshots and people bloodied on the street. US Representative Brad Schneider, a Democrat representing the area also confirmed the incident of the shooting. According to him, “My campaign team and I were gathering at the start of the parade when the shooting started. My team and I are safe and secure.”
According to the reports of State Representative Bob Morgan, it is believed that there have been an increasing amount of injuries.
The 4th July parade was held with feature floats, marching bands, novelty groups, and community members who were badly traumatized from the unprecedented shooting incident.
Another witness named Hugo Aguilera has taken a video of the incident where an ambulance is seen to be present with a police car and people gathered on the grassy sidewalk.
