Republicans need to support Trump and take action in response to this illegal FBI raid, said Terrence K Williams

The FBI allegedly raided the residence of former president Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago as a part of an investigation into whether or not he took any confidential materials with him when he left the White House, according to Trump. On Monday, August 8, 2022, he was seen exiting Trump Tower in New York while giving the crowd a thumbs up. Trump stated in his statement about the FBI raid that his residence was “under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” without specifying what the agents were searching for. “They even broke into my safe!” Trump said.

The focus of the investigation, according to the New York Times, is on documents that Trump brought to Mar-a-Lago after leaving the White House. The FBI was explicitly looking to see if he was in private possession of any classified information, which would be against the law. Trump purportedly took 15 boxes of documents with him when he left Washington, DC, in January 2021; however, the boxes were later given back to the National Archives in January 2022. The FBI continued to search the former president’s South Florida mansion for any further presidential records or any secret documents.

Trump’s personal attorney Christina Bobb was there during the search, according to sources. When asked about the raid in a call, Eric Trump, who was in the Trump Tower on Monday, recalled telling his father about it.  “I was the guy who got the call this morning and I called my father and let him know it happened, and I was involved all day,” he told the media. “Welcome to politics in the 2020s.”

“To have 30 FBI agents — actually more than that — descend on Mar-a-Lago, give absolutely, you know, no notice, go through the gates, start ransacking an office, ransacking a closet — you know, they broke into a safe. He didn’t even have anything in the safe. I mean, give me a break,” he added, charging President Joe Biden’s White House for allegedly being the force behind the raid.

“This didn’t come from a local FBI field office in Palm Beach, Florida. Do you know this came from? This came from one place and one building, and that is the White House in Washington, DC. They want to attack a guy who they view as his greatest threat, Biden’s greatest threat,” Eric said.

It has been said that Trump is thinking about running again for president. “These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before,” Trump said in a statement. “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”

Trump said, “Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before.”

“They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States,” he added. Trump was not at Mar-a-Lago when the raid took place.

US Secret Service agents at Mar-a-Lago apparently informed the FBI in advance, and they were allowed entry. The fact that the Secret Service agents abstained from the search shows that the FBI did not need to storm into the building or smash down doors.

Several people have criticized the raid on social media.

Actor and comedian Terrence K Williams said, “Every Republican better fight for Trump and do something about this unlawful FBI raid or get the hell out of office”.
