Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Agency publishes a list of Russian soldiers involved in the atrocities in Bucha
The Chief Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has published a list of Russian soldiers from the 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade who committed crimes against Ukrainians in Bucha, near Kyiv.
The list includes the names and personal information of soldiers ranging from privates to colonels. The majority of them work for the Russian Federation’s internal affairs and migration services.
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, and on March 8, there was a humanitarian disaster in the captured towns near Kyiv – Hostomel, Bucha, Irpen, and Vorzel.
Bucha was liberated from Russian occupation on April 1. Anatolii Fedoruk, the Mayor of Bucha, announced on April 2 that nearly 300 citizens had been buried in mass graves and that dozens of corpses were lying in the streets, some with their hands tied. As of April 4, 330-340 civilians killed by Russians in Bucha had been buried.
On April 3, the Prosecutor General announced that 410 bodies of killed civilians had been taken to be examined by forensic experts from the liberated territory of Kyiv region.
Poland’s President Andrzej Duda stated that photos from Bucha show that a compromise should be sought at any cost, and US State Department spokesman Ned Price announced new sanctions against Russia.
