Best TV Under Rs. 20,000
We’ve seen a decent number of smart TVs selling for less than Rs.20,000, and the market has seen some significant upgrades late. Before, you could just expect basics, but TVs are getting better when it comes to software and efficiency. You can now get top-of-the-range software and hardware on budget TVs, due in part to heavy competition in the Indian and foreign players segments. The introduction of major mobile vendors such as Realme and OnePlus into the TV room has changed the market entirely.
Here’s our revised list of the best TVs you can buy under Rs. 20,000 in India. Although the list includes some old classics, we do have a new top pick that delivers a convincing collection of features at a bargain price. Read on to learn more.
Realme Smart TV
Realme’s latest launch of TVs in India has shaken things up in the market, thanks to impressive pricing requirements and applications. We’ve tested the 43-inch version of Realme Smart TV priced at Rs. 21,999, and apart from its screen resolution, the 32-inch edition offers the same features, including the stock Android TV GUI, remote voice assistant, and HDR app support.
For Rs. 12,999, the 32-inch Realme Smart TV is one of the finest entry-level TVs you can purchase today. It’s a nice way to get started with smart features without costing too much, and supporting all the popular Android TV applications means you won’t need to purchase any extra equipment. Realme Smart TV is very versatile on its own without the need to install anything outside your set-top box or game console.
Apart from being a full-length and highly competent smart TV, the 43-inch image quality was great for us when used with good content. Sound output was still up to the mark, so you won’t need to use external speakers or a TV soundbar if you don’t want to. In our opinion, this is the best affordable TV you can get, particularly if you’re looking to get started with streaming services.
Blaupunkt 43BU680 (43-inch) 4K Smart TV
While it cost a little more than our target cap at launch, the price of the Blaupunkt 43BU680 is now down to Rs. 20,000. This makes it one of India’s most affordable 4K HDR TVs, and indeed the most affordable way to get on the 4K and streaming bandwagon.
This TV supports high dynamic range viewing HDR10 format and has a 43-inch 4K LED screen. Picture quality is decent for 4K and full HD content but drops dramatically at a lower resolution. This means that this TV is only very acceptable if you plan to stream any of your content to high definition. The sound is also good, with a rated performance of 30W.
Vu Ultra Android TV 43GA
While there are several choices available under Rs. 20,000 offline, the best offers can be found online, such as Vu Ultra Android TV. Typically priced under Rs. 20,000 for a 43-inch edition, this TV gets it right with a full-HD screen and full-fledged Android TV 9 Pie out of the box.
While not delivering the same value for money as the Realme and Blaupunkt products, you do have a reasonably consistent standard of success of content in both resolutions. The app is excellent as well, so you won’t have any trouble getting started with streaming services. Sound and color reproduction can be embarrassing, but they are minor cons on a TV that is otherwise high on pros.
Best TV Under Rs. 20,000
Xiaomi Mi TV 4A Pro (32-inch): Xiaomi’s most affordable TV in India laid the groundwork for making smart TVs so popular, but this model is now a little dated and not as well fitted with Realme TV. It’s still a decent choice to consider at Rs. 12,499, particularly if you like the PatchWall UI on top of Android TV.
TCL 40S62FS (40-inch): This full-HD TV from TCL is one of the most inexpensive choices for the company. It has a reasonably big screen, which can act as a perfect improvement for people who have a 32-inch Monitor. The resolution and smart networking offered by the TCL Launcher also opens up the prospect of broadcasting to consumers who are usually used for cable and DTH TV. This model is currently priced at Rs. 16,999.
Shinco SO42AS-E50 (40-inch): Shinco is best known for its scandalous sales and high-quality prices, and the SO42AS-E50 is one of the most popular models at any time. Priced at Rs. 14,499, this 40-inch full HD smart TV is worth checking out.
iFFalcon by TCL F2 (40-inch): This sub-brand from the Chinese TV maker TCL may have a very unusual name, but it is on par with its parent company in terms of product consistency. What is unique about this TV is that it is much like the TCL 40S62FS, with similar specs and features, but at a lower price of Rs. 15,999.
Sony KLV-24P413D (24-inch): Although it might seem strange to pick a 24-inch TV when you could pay a little more and get a 32-, 40-, or 43-inch TV, you’re buying a Sony quality pledge with this option. Usually known to be the maker of the best high-end LED TVs in the world, Sony has a considerable appeal as a brand. If you’re looking for a tiny TV for a particular location or purpose—such as a child’s bedroom or workspace—this portable Sony TV with its HD (1366×768 pixels) screen might do the trick. It’s available online for Rs. 13,890, and it’s the most affordable Sony LED TV right now.
