Scott Derrickson directorial, ‘Black Phone’, the supernatural horror film to be available for streaming on Netflix from October 24, 2023

The 2021 supernatural horror film Black Phone, directed by Scott Derrickson will be available for streaming on Netflix from October 24, 2023. The film first premiered at the Fantastic Fest on September 25, 2021. It was theatrically released for the first time in the United States by Universal Pictures on June 24, 2022. Apart from Netflix, the film was set available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from December 27, 2022.

The screenplay of the film is written by Scott Derrickson along with C. Robert Cargill. It is based on the short story of the same name, “The Black Phone” by Joe Hill.

The production companies involved are Blumhouse Productions and Crooked Highway. The film is distributed by Universal Pictures.

The cinematography of the film was done by Brett Jutkiewicz and edited by Frederic Thoraval.

The film features Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and James Rasone in some of the lead roles.

The film won the Saturn Awards in 2022 for Best Horror Film, the Bram Stoker Award in 2023 for Superior Achievement in Screenwriting, the Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards in 2023 for Best Horror Film, and Fangoria Chainsaw Awards in 2023 for Best Wide Release Movie and Best Screenplay.
