Apple iOS 16 is all set to release today: Check how it will change your iPhone
From 10 a.m. PT today, Apple will begin releasing iOS 16 to iPhone 8 and above.
The latest operating system has been in testing for a while now, but it was initially unveiled at the WWDC in June of this year.
Other improvements of iOS 16 include personalized lock screens, significant iMessages changes, and enhanced security.
Features
With iOS 16, you can now upload your favorite photographs and change the text style of your lock screen. If you like, you can make your own lock screens with unique backgrounds. Simply touch the screen, keep it still, then swipe to change.
It is also possible to edit recently sent messages or to unsend them.
Within 15 minutes, you must alter the wording, and two minutes after, you must delete the communications.
Focus mode switching made easier
Users can choose which contacts or applications they want to get notifications from in the new Focus mode.
To change how the device feels, the Focus mode can also be attached to the lock screen.
The display will be updated when switching from Personal Focus to Work Focus with a single swipe. To-do list widgets might be shown.
Notifications Will Appear At The Bottom Of The Screen
On the lock screen, notifications will now appear in bold language and roll out from the bottom of the display. Users must swipe them up from the bottom in order to access them. In stacked or enlarged list view mode, you can see them.
Safety Features
Passkeys are also included in iOS 16. They are unique to the website they were built for and are an end-to-end encrypted sign-in solution. They never depart from your phone.
They sync with every Apple device you own and cannot be compromised.
Additionally, Apple is introducing a Lockdown mode to safeguard iPhones from spyware like Pegasus. To access it, go to Settings and then click the Privacy tab.
Steps to Download & Install iOS 16
The steps are as follows:
- Select “General” from the drop-down menu under “Settings” by going there. Next, click “Software Update.”
- Click “Install” if iOS 16 is available for your device. Your phone will then download and install the OS.
- Make sure the smartphone has enough battery life and that the data has been backed up before you start downloading.
