Canon EOS R7 and EOS R10 cameras are now available in India: Here’s everything you need to know

In India, Canon has unveiled two of its latest cameras, the EOS R7 and EOS R10. The latest APS-C crop-sensor RF-mount has a smaller sensor than that of the ones used on the company’s mirrorless cameras previously. Canon can deliver excellent performance without being overly pricey thanks to the smaller APS-C cropped size. Here’s all you should know about these cameras.

Canon EOS R7 and EOS R10 cameras are now available in India: Here's everything you need to know

Canon EOS R7

The Canon EOS R7 replaces the Canon 90D and 7D, yet neither of these cameras will be retired, according to Canon. Returning to the R7, the camera features a new 32.5MP sensor with a 1.6x crop ratio when compared to a full-frame camera.

The R7 features weather sealing and twin SD card ports, as well as up to seven steps of vibration adjustment. The R7’s sensor, which is powered by the DIGIC X processor, can capture at up to 15 fps in mechanical shutter mode and 30 frames per second in electronic shutter mode.

The camera is powered by the LP-E6NH battery, which can also be found in the EOS R5 and R6 cameras. The camera’s autofocus system is said to be inherited from the R3, and while it can’t even shoot at the very same speed as its higher-tier sibling, it does have the same AI-recognition engine capable of recognizing people, wildlife, and cars.

In terms of video, the R7 can capture 4K footage at up to 60fps and in 10-bit color. Meanwhile, Full HD video may be filmed at up to 120 frames per second, bypassing the 30-minute constraint found in 4K. The Canon EOS R7 is expected to be released later this year and will cost Rs 1,64,995.

Canon EOS R10

The Canon EOS R10 is a simple and compact camera featuring a new 24.2MP APS-C sensor and the same 1.6x crop ratio as the EOS R7. The sensor isn’t really stacked or backside lit, as it is on the R7. Furthermore, there is no in-body stabilization, which is available on the R7.

Buyers will receive the DIGIC X processor, that allows users to capture at 15fps and 23fps with manual and computerized shutters, respectively. Canon’s AI technologies allow the camera to recognize subjects such as animals and cars.

The EOS R10 is available for Rs 80 995 (body only) or Rs 1,17,995 when purchased with the RF-S18-150MM F3.5-6.3 IS STM lens.
