Apple is planning to bring solid-state volume buttons to the iPhone 15 Pro

iPhone models’ volume and power buttons will be solid-state, much like the iPhone 7/8/SE’s home button.

Apple is always upgrading the look and features of its flagship product every year. In the most recent iPhone 14 series, the Pro models gained the Dynamic Island notch, a 48MP camera. And other features, while the basic model kept the A15 Bionic Chip.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series both have a similar appearance and feel, so there have been no aesthetic modifications to the design.

Apple is reportedly preparing to make some significant design modifications to its next iPhone 15 series, which is expected to launch in 2023.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models have volume and power buttons, according to the most recent reports. The buttons will be replaced with solid-state buttons similar to those spotted on the recently-launched Apple Watch Series 8.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, posted about the development on his Twitter page. In a tweet, Kuo said that the high-end iPhone models’ volume and power buttons will be solid-state. It is much like the iPhone 7/8/SE’s home button. The old mechanical or physical buttons will effectively be replaced by the new ones.

“My latest survey indicates that the volume button and power button of two high-end iPhone 15/2H23. New iPhone models may adopt a solid-state button design (similar to the home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 & 3.) to replace the physical/mechanical button design,” Kuo said in his tweet.

Additionally, the development suggests that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will very certainly keep their clicky buttons.

Kuo said that Apple will reportedly use taptic engine vibration motors to allegedly imitate the sensation of a click, just like the home button on earlier iPhones.

According to a number of other rumors, the iPhone 15 may also be the first Apple smartphone to enable USB-C.
