Apple sets the sales expectations of 150,000 for the Vision Pro, couldn’t cross the 20 million units sales of it’s competitor Meta Quest

On Monday, Apple unveiled its first major product since the Apple Watch in 2015, this major product was the Vision Pro. This was the company’s first MR headset and is priced at $3,499. Earlier it was expected that about 1 million units will be sold of this newly launched device but these expectations are turned down as Apple has lowered its sales target to just 150,000 units.

Vision Pro was praised well enough for its impressive technology and many users and enthusiasts assumed that Apple’s this newly launched headset will give tough competition to its rival Meta Quest and also that the Vision Pro will be high in demand. Although now it appears that there are still a few years before Apple’s MR headset sees widespread adoption.

As mentioned by famous tipster @TheGalox Meta Quest 2 has sold over 20 million units while from late 2021 to early 2023 the sales of Meta Quest 2 doubled from 10 million to 20 million. Meanwhile, Apple has set its sales expectations of 150,000 for the Vision Pro.

This means there is still time for the Vision Pro to overpower Meta Quest though, after the launch of Apple Vision Pro, the headset wars have definitely heated up. On one hand where Vision Pro is priced at a starting price of $3500 and needs a separate battery pack, on the other hand, Meta Quest 2 costs $299 and has 128 GB of memory. Also, it is said that most of the features that were showcased at the launch event of Vision Pro are already introduced by Meta.

Hence the consumers out there will really be looking forward to knowing how the Vision Pro differs from Meta Quest and also the vast price difference between the two headsets.
