Asus launches updated ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova gaming earphones
Asus has launched ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova gaming earphones which is a significant update to the previous version of Cetra True Wireless gaming earphones. In addition to standard Bluetooth, it has 2.4GHz connectivity also known as Speednova wireless technology.
It uses a USB-C wireless receiver to achieve low latency for gaming. The higher bandwidth of the 2.4GHz connection also makes sure to support for hi-res audio, specifically 24-bit 96 KHz using LC3+. Rather than Bluetooth multipoint it comes with the “hybrid multipoint” which specifically means one device is connected to Bluetooth while other devices are connected via 2.4GHz wireless.
It very intelligently optimises the ANC performance of the earphones based on the listener’s ear canal and how tightly or loosely it’s fitted. These factors are collectively detected 1000 times per second and thereafter the external noise can be reduced by up to 31dB. Its “Auto Mode” balances the level of noise and ambiance with three settings: Street, Commuting, and Home.
It is equipped with bone-conduction microphones that are said to isolate the speaker’s voice from noise around him.
A significant change in battery life has also been brought by increasing the battery life from 27 hours to 46 hours with Bluetooth and 36 hours with 2.4 GHz. It comes in an IPX4-rated body thus making it water resistant. As of now, the company has not announced its price though its previous version came with the price tag of $99.
