Sony is going to make you wait longer than you expected for the new editions of its market-leading headphones and earbuds. As per the official announcement by the company, it has unveiled the new colour option of both WH-1000XM5 and WF-1000XM5. This is the “Smoky Pink” variant that has made the headphones and earbuds eye-catching. Apart from the new colour you aren’t going to get anything new in terms of features.
Sony’s official US e-store is currently accepting pre-orders though unfortunately, it will start shipping the Smoky Pink variant of the Sony WH-1000XM5 and WF-1000XM5 from October. The headphones and earbuds are not available at discounted prices either. This means when you are not going to get something new in terms of features you can wait for Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas Sales to begin.

The WF-1000XM5 earphones are equipped with the specially designed driver unit Dynamic Driver X that provides wide frequency reproduction, enabling deeper bass, subtle vocals, and enhanced fine detail. It comes with an AI-based noise reduction algorithm based on Deep Neural Network(DNN) processing and bone conduction sensors. It comes with touch controls thus allowing you to control it without taking out your phone. As far as battery life is concerned you can enjoy up to 8 hours listening when it’s fully charged.
The WH-1000XM5 headphones come equipped with a 30mm driver unit featuring a soft edge that enhances noise canceling. Its specially designed 30mm driver unit with a light and rigid dome made of carbon fibre composite material improves high-frequency sensitivity for more natural sound quality. It comes with the Sony specially developed integrated processor V1 that unlocks the potential of the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1. It comes with four beamforming microphones and comes with the Voice Pickup Technology that ensures clear calls. It can be controlled through the voice assistant. As far as battery life is concerned the earphones can work for up to 30 hours when fully charged.
