Galaxy Watches running Wear OS will soon support WhatsApp calling
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch range may soon support WhatsApp calls. Several Galaxy Watch users claim that the newest version of WhatsApp, which is in beta, allows WhatsApp calls to be made directly from the smartwatch. For the WhatsApp smartphone app, specifically, the most recent beta version is accessible. Although the update is not directly accessible for Wear OS 3 smartwatches, it may be loaded on linked smartphones to enable remote calling on Wear OS 3 wrist wearables, such as the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5.
However, depending on the smartwatch model that is connected to the smartphone running the most recent WhatsApp beta version, this new functionality behaves differently (2.22.19.11).
Version 2.22.19.11 of WhatsApp is now in beta testing, however formal availability information is still lacking. Furthermore, it’s uncertain whether this WhatsApp calling capability will be added in the upcoming public release. There is little doubt that Meta developers are considering adding this feature for smartwatch owners, thus chances are good that WhatsApp calls will soon be available on Wear OS 3 smartwatches, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch line of devices.
