Google Launches New Nest Learning Thermostat That’s Smarter And Sleeker Than Before

Google has already begun extending the intelligence of AI to its digital products like Google Photos, Google Messenger, and Gmail. However, it’s not only limited to these products only, because we just saw how Google integrated Gemini into its new Google TV Streamer. It has done the same with the new Nest Learning Thermostat that comes with redefined design and intelligent features thus making your home a smart home.

The new Thermostat comes with a bigger and minimal bezel display that is 60% bigger than the previous generation. It won’t be wrong to say that this looks more like a bigger Google smartwatch. You can easily see time, temperature, weather, or outdoor air quality on it. It comes in three metal finishes: Polished Silver, Polished Obsidian, and Polished Gold. Now comes the AI part of this Thermostat that makes it intelligent enough to automatically make micro-adjustments based on the user pattern. It can quickly create personalised energy-saving temperature schedules. At the same time, this new Thermostat also makes sure to analyse the temperature outside in order to maintain the temperature inside accordingly.

The Thermostat comes with a pebble-like Nest Temperature Sensor that you can place at different places in your home, thus managing cold and hot spots as per your preference. It’s easy to control through the Google Home app that the company has made more intuitive than before.

Price and availability

The Nest Learning Thermostat is available for pre-order at Google select store, and select retailers starting today for $279.99 in the US and $379.99 in Canada. It will be available from August 20th. The Nest Learning Thermostat comes with a Nest Temperature Sensor though you can buy additional sensors for $39.99 USD or $99.99 USD for a 3-pack.
