Google strangely takes away wide-angle astrophotography from Pixel phones
Google has brought a major change recently and replaced ultra-wide cameras with Google Digital camera 8.1.
Google has removed wide-angle astrophotography from Pixel phones.
No longer Pixel 5 and 4a 5G customers would be able to use astrophotography as Google has inexplicably removed it with Digital camera 8.1. Google eliminated the lens’s astrophotography capabilities with Google Digital camera 8.1. When the 4a 5G and 5 had been introduced with new wide-angle lenses, the characteristic was added to these as nicely. Now it has been taken away.
The astrophotography camera lets the customers click the pictures of the stars at night. Either hold the camera or placed it on a tripod you would get a nice picture of stars but it has been removed by Google lately. Earlier you would get the option saying “Astrophotography on” but now in case you go to Night time Sight mode and swap to the ultra wide-angle digital camera you cannot find the same option instead you will get a message saying “Zoom to 1x for astrophotography.”
Comparisons between ultra-wide (prime) and commonplace angle lenses were posted by Google Pixel Telephone discussion board consumer’s in astrophotography mode.
However, Google has given no response to the question when asked about this change.
