Here is how you can switch on the black-and-white always-on display in iPhone 14 Pro

According to reports, the iPhone 14 Pro has a hidden option that enables black-and-white always-on display mode. The black-and-white mode is obtained by using a long-standing Focus mode setting known as the Dim Lock Screen. In always-on mode, this setting completely darkens the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to a recent 9To5Mac report, the iPhone 14 Pro includes a hidden toggle that allows users to activate the black-and-white always-on display. As previously stated, the black-and-white always-on mode can be activated by using a long-standing Focus mode setting known as the Dim Lock Screen. This setting is said to be capable of completely darkening the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max while they are in always-on mode.

To enable the mode:

  • Go to Settings and then tap Focus. Select any Focus mode – Do Not Disturb, Personal, Sleep, or Work – and then Options. Toggle the “Dim Lock Screen” option.
  • The ‘always-on’ display on your iPhone 14 Pro will now appear darker in black-and-white. The catch is that you must have the specific Focus mode turned on.
  • When enabled, the date, time, and widgets will be displayed in white, while the rest of the screen will be blacked out, just like on Android.

The iPhone’s always-on display appears to be divisive, with many finding it distracting, as is the iPhone’s way. The completely darkened always-on display on iPhone 14 is a great trick, but it is not the solution.
