Lenovo Unveils the Legion Go Handheld Gaming Device with Detachable Controllers: To be Made Available in November 2023

The Chinese multinational technology company, Lenovo, has unveiled its very own handheld gaming device – the Legion Go, inspired by the Nintendo Switch with detachable handles. Two accessories have also been unveiled with the gaming device.

Lenovo Legion Go

Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld gaming device is powered by the Ryzen Z1 series processors and is available up to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor variant. It runs on the Windows 11 operating system with the Legion Space user interface.

About the storage, the device comes in three internal storage options – 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, and all the variants have the same 16GB of RAM. The gaming device also has a cooling system within it and comes with three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

For its display, Lenovo’s Legion Go features an LCD display panel with a screen size of 8.8″, along with a QHD+ screen resolution of 1,600 x 2,560 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. It has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and supports a brightness rate of up to 500 nits. For a better battery efficiency, the gaming device is also capable of dropping the resolution to 800 pixels and the refresh rate to 60.

As mentioned above, one of the notable features of the gaming device is its detachable controllers – the Legion TrueStrike and the kickstand which comes at the back of it. The controllers also offer various functional keys to its users and the right controller can even be used as a mouse with the help of the controller base. Two built-in speakers and a dual array near-field microphone are also part of the device.

Now, regarding its connectivity options, the Legion Go gaming device supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and comes with connectivity ports which include two USB type-C ports, a microSD card slot(up to 2TB), and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Finally coming to the battery, the gaming device packs a 49.2Wh two-cell battery and supports a 65W fast charge feature. In just 30 minutes, users may charge the device from 0% to 70%. To add, the device also comes with a power bypass mode as well.

Lenovo is to make the Legion Go gaming device available for purchase in the month of November 2023 at a price of €799 in the European market and $699 in the US.

There are two additional accessories also unveiled alongside the gaming device – Legion Glasses and Legion E510 7.1 RGB gaming in-ear headphones, both of which will be made available a month early, in October 2023, at price points of €499 and €49.99, respectively.
