Alleged OPPO Find X8 with Dimensity 9400, reduced display size in works
Last month, tipster Digital Chat Station claimed MediaTek’s next flagship chipset, tentatively dubbed the Dimensity 9400, would be announced in October of this year. In 2023, Vivo launched the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro as the world’s first phones powered by the Dimensity 9300. The Find X7 and the iQOO Neo 9 Pro also featured the same chip. A new leak, courtesy of DCS, has revealed what to expect from the Find X8.
Find X8’s key details tipped
The screenshot above shows DCS talking about a forthcoming Dimensity 9400 smartphone. While the leaker has mentioned a few details about its display and rear camera design, he has not mentioned the moniker of the device. However, the Weibo post’s emoji suggests that the leaker is referring to an upcoming OPPO flagship phone, further hinting that he may have revealed details about the Find X8.
Based on the new leak, it can be inferred that the Find X8’s prototype is equipped with a flat display measuring approximately 6.4 or 6.5 inches. This suggests a considerable reduction in size compared to the Find X7, which flaunts a 6.78-inch display.
The tipster emphasised that the screen size is slightly larger than the Find N3’s 6.31-inch cover display. The leaker also notes that the circular main camera module requires space, along with considerations for battery and heat dissipation.
Another Chinese leaker revealed last month that the Find X8 will have the D9400 chip, and the Find X8 Ultra will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. While the standard model will have an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor, the Ultra variant will have a curved-edge display equipped with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. It is unclear whether the Find X8 series will debut this year or in Q1 2025.
