ASUS ROG Phone 7 bags NBTC certification before April 13 launch
Last month, ASUS confirmed that it would announce the ROG Phone 7 series of gaming phones on April 13 in multiple markets. Reports have claimed multiple model numbers are associated with the ROG Phone 7 lineup. One of them has been certified by the NBTC authority in Thailand.
Last month, an ASUS phone with model number ASUS_AI2205_C appeared in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing showed that the phone has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and the Android 13 OS.
The same device has appeared in NBTC’s database. As can be seen, the listing confirms that it will be called the ROG Phone 7 when it arrives in Thailand. Our exclusive report revealed that model numbers, such as AI2205_AI, AI2205_B, and AI2205_C belong to the global, China, and Indian variants of the ROG Phone 7, respectively. The AI2205_D is associated with the ROG Phone 7D heading to China, whereas the AI2205_E and AI2205_F belong to the global and China variants of the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, respectively.

As per a recent report, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 will feature a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED screen that offers an FHD+ resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. It will have a 32-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main) + 13-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 5-megapixel triple camera unit. The device will run on Android 13 OS and ROG UI.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered device will come with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It will pack a 6,000mAh battery with 65W rapid charging. Lastly, it will come equipped with an IP54-rated chassis, which weighs less than 240 grams.
