Concept Design: If Apple were to introduce a foldable smartphone based on current design, it would look like this
The craze for the foldable smartphone has significantly increased nowadays and every other brand is either looking to upgrade their foldables or to introduce the new one in the market. Recently Samsung launched its foldable and as per the reports, OnePlus is also looking ahead to step in the foldable smartphone market with the OnePlus Open.
Though reports are around Apple iPhone 15 series nowadays what if it in future goes for the foldable smartphone? I know this sounds interesting and to make this more interesting Michal Dufka has made some designs that show how an iPhone iFold will look.
Design
This design is based on the iPhone’s current design which will obviously have to go through numerous changes for becoming a foldable smartphone. The images show the iPhone’s rear panel with its triple camera setup on a rectangular platform. One side of this platform has a triple camera setup while the other side has an outer display. As of now, almost all other brands are looking ahead to expand the size of the cover display and at this time Apple coming with such a small cover display won’t make it a desired smartphone at all.
The image also shows the logo retained on the upper side of the flip phone. Michael has also shared the image of a folded iPhone iFold which looks quite thick. Makers will also have to work on reducing the thickness if the phone is introduced.
The rest of the things have been kept the same in the design but these design renders suggest changes that the current iPhone model will have to go through for becoming a foldable smartphone. One of the changes it will have to address is a hinge that takes significant space for which it will have to bring in the camera and battery size.
As of now, there is no such report about Apple working on a foldable smartphone but reports are there around Apple working on a zero bezel display smartphone with a glass body that we covered in a report.
