Google delays Pixel 9A release due to last minute quality checks

Usually, Google starts the pre-orders of its Pixel devices as soon as they are unveiled while the sale starts at a later point. But this practice seems to have changed for Pixel 9a devices due to a quality issue.

Google officially unveiled Pixel 9a smartphone in global as well as Indian markets last week but the company is said to have postponed the release of the device. As per a statement given to The Verge by Google spokesperson Matt Flegal, the company is checking on a component quality issue that’s affecting a small number of Pixel 9a devices. Even the review units of the device are not distributed to the media. The shipping is said to start sometime in April.

Earlier Pixel 9a banner was made live on Flipkart but clicking on the banner did not reveal any further details. But that’s not the case now, the Flipkart microsite now reveals some key details about the device like Magic Editor, Gemini, Add me feature, Macro focus feature, Best Take feature, up to 30 hours battery life, 7 years of OS and security updates. Again there is a Coming Soon message.

In India, it arrives in Iris, Porcelain, and Obsidian while it is priced at Rs 49,999.
