Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro: Here’s Everything We Know So Far
The California-based tech company, Alphabet Inc.’s Google, will soon be unveiling two of its Pixel 8 series devices and we have by now come across a lot about the two upcoming devices in the past few months.

Google Pixel 8 Series – Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro
Google will be launching two smartphone devices next month in the Pixel 8 series and as mentioned, this includes the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. Very recently, the US spec & price sheet of the series was shared, which confirmed a lot of the upcoming smartphones’ expected features.
Both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones will be powered by the Tensor G3 processor and are equipped with the Titan M2 chip. The vanilla Pixel 8 will have a RAM of 8GB and the pro model, the Pixel 8 Pro, will be offering 12GB of RAM. The two devices will also have displays supporting varying refresh rates. The Pixel 8 Pro will support 1Hz-120Hz refresh rate, while the Pixel 8 has a varying refresh rate support of 60Hz-120Hz.
For the cameras, the Pixel 8 will have a dual camera setup, whereas the Pixel 8 Pro will have a triple camera unit. The vanilla Pixel 8 smartphone will house a main camera of 50MP and an ultrawide angle lens of 12MP with macro capability. The Pixel 8 Pro will be featuring a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultrawide angle camera(with macro focus), and a 48MP telephoto camera(5x zoom). A front-facing camera of 10.5MP will also be present on both devices. The two Pixel 8 series devices will also be having Google’s new and revamped camera app with many camera features.
Some of the other features on the two devices are built-in VPN, face unlock, fingerprint unlock, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Face Unblur, Night Sight, Real Tone, and improved security & privacy features. To add, the Pixel 8 Pro smartphone will also feature a thermometer sensor.
Regarding their battery backups, the vanilla Pixel 8 smartphone is expected to pack a 4,485 mAh battery, whereas the Pixel 8 Pro smartphone might be backed by a 4,950 mAh battery. The two are also likely to support 24W and 27W fast charge features, respectively. The Pixel 8 smartphone from its WPC certification is also confirmed to support a 12W wireless charging feature too.
Speaking about their other certifications, both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones have been certified by the FCC and IMDA certification authorities. The Pixel 8 Pro device has also received the Canadian REL certification as well.
The official design renders of the two Pixel 8 series smartphones in different colors were revealed online a few days back(via MySmartPrice) and the promo video of the series was shared(via 91mobiles). Google had also itself revealed the 360-degree preview and the image of the Pixel 8 Pro smartphone through its official website.
About their different variants, the Pixel 8 smartphone will be having two storage options – 128GB & 256GB, and the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in 128GB, 256GB & 512GB storage options. The two devices will also be available in multiple color choices as well. The Pixel 8 smartphone will be available in Peony Rose, Hazel – Grey, Obsidian – Black, and mint colors, and the Pixel 8 Pro will have Porcelain, Bay – bay-sky blue, Obsidian – Black, and mint color choices. The smartphones will be having mineral-themed wallpapers this time.
Price and Availability
In the European market, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones will start at price points of €874.25 and €1,235.72, respectively. The two devices in the United States will be launched with starting prices of $699 and $899, respectively. In the Indian market, the exact price points of the two smartphones are still not known, however, we do know that the online partner for Google’s Pixel 8 series in India is Flipkart.
Google will be launching the two much-awaited Pixel 8 series devices next month on the 4th of October 2023 at the scheduled launch event, amongst the 8 exciting announcements that are to be made.
