Google Camera App – New and Revamped User Interface
Even while many other smartphone brands and their smartphones are able to outperform the Pixel series devices in terms of camera specs, Google’s Camera app has played a very important role in enabling its users to capture great photos and videos with the Pixel devices. However, it has been quite some time since Google has brought a notable update to the app, but hold on, this year, along with the Pixel 8 series devices, the brand will also be introducing a brand new and revamped Camera app.
Via an article published online, we now have a sneak peak of some of the features and changes that will be brought to the Camera app and the first among them is the separate camera and video modes. With the toggle button placed under the mode selection bar, users will be able to switch between camera and video modes and access their features on different tabs. A gallery preview button has also been added in place of the location button.
There is also a change in the action to quickly access the Settings menu. On the new Camera app, users will have to swipe from bottom to app instead of the previous top-to-bottom method. The Settings icon that is given at the right of the camera-video switch toggle button, can also be used to open the Settings menu.
Some of the other changes are the reshuffling of different camera modes from their previous places. The “Motion” tab has been split into “Long Exposure” and “Action Pan”, and the “Cinematic Pan” mode will be receiving its own separate tab called “Pan”. Stabilization features like “Standard”, “Active” and “Lock”, will be available on the pop-up Settings menu.
For those of you who didn’t know, the upcoming Pixel 8 series, which includes the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, will also be receiving some significant camera upgrades as well, compared to its previous versions, along with some new software features including the Audio Magic Eraser that was revealed with the leaked promo video of the Pixel 8 Pro smartphone.
